How do I join CrossFit?

To get started right away, sign up for a CrossFit Dynamics Workshop. This is a two-week-long series of 8 classes, which will teach you the basic techniques (including key movements from gymnastics, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and kettlebell training) and ramp you up to full CrossFit intensity. Dynamics Workshops are a mandatory pre-requisite for general membership, and cost $150. For more info on the Workshop, read the Dynamics Description. There is no further commitment required of you beyond the workshop, so if BTB is not for you, then you have at least walked away with a good working knowledge of CrossFit.

I’m super fit. I run and bike and do Yoga. Can’t I just join your All Levels classes and skip the Dynamics Workshop?

Do you know what a thruster is? How about Tabata squats? Sumo Deadlift High pull? Can you clean and jerk safely and with efficacy? If those movements sound like a different language to you, nothing personal, but you need some work. We have established standards that you must meet in order to gain entry to our ongoing group CrossFit classes. Think of it this way, just because you can kick does not mean you can start in Karate as a Black Belt.  Same with CrossFit.  Pay your dues, learn your stuff.  Suck it up buttercup.

 

Already experienced with CrossFit and want to skip the Dynamics Workshop?

Do you already meet the standards for our All Levels classes? Let’s find out! You must schedule an Intro Session and test out of the Workshop. 

Interested but want to try a session first? If you are an experienced CrossFitter, you are welcome to come try out any of our group classes.  Just give us a heads up that you will be coming in.  If you are not experienced in CrossFit, then you have a couple of options.  You can come in to watch any of our group sessions to get a feel for the gym.  Or, you can come try it out first hand at one of our "bring a friend to CrossFit" days.  These are listed on our CrossFit blog page under BTB CrossFit Happenings.  Email us at crossfit@btbfitness.com for any more info.  

Full Membership: After successful completion of the Elements Workshop, you can join as a full member, attending any “All Levels” Workout of the Day ("WOD") classes.

As the old saying goes, “You get what you pay for.” If you are looking for training and results that are worth $30/month, then we'll happily provide you with a directory for the local "Big Box" gyms in the immediate area. You’ll usually get minimal results. At BTB, we provide only the highest quality coaching in a group format at pricing that is only a fraction of the normal 1-on-1 style of personal training. We are open 7 days a week, offering 44 opportunities to train each week.
